On the morning of April 27, 2023, Robotics Secretariat paid a courtesy call on minister of Ministry of Information, H.E Khieu Kanharith and reported on the progress of the ABU Robocon 2023 International Robotics Competition in Cambodia.
A delegation from the Japan Robotics Secretariat, led by Mr. Ken Matsuo, Representative of NHK Enterprise, expressed his pleasure to cooperate with the National Television of Cambodia to re-organize the International Robotics Event after Covid-19. Mr. Matsuo hopes that the 2023 Robotics Competition in Cambodia will be a great annual event for tech students.
On that occasion, HE Khieu Kanharith stated that the current robot competition program is supported and eagerly awaited by young Cambodians, whether members of the robot production team or fans. In this momentum, the Minister added that the Ministry of Information plans to invite Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister, to preside over this grand event.
The Minister stated that the National Television of Cambodia has been cooperating with NHK for a long time, so if NHK wishes to broadcast the robotics program live from the National Television of Cambodia, the National Television of Cambodia welcomes the broadcast.
It should be noted that the Japan Robot Competition Secretariat visited Cambodia for the third time to discuss the organization of the event, site inspections, accommodation and other tourist destinations.
It should also be reminded that TVK has been authorized to host the International Robot Competition on August 27, 2023, with 13 countries participating. The national robot competition event will be held on June 25, 2023 at the indoor sports center of Morodok Techo National Stadium with 11 teams participating.
